The Food Trucks Are Coming!

The Food Trucks Are Coming! And this year there will be more nights, more options to eat and less options to be overwhelmed. They will be parking EVERY Monday on the west side of Whole Foods Market. They will be there each Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm starting June 19th and their last night will be on August 28th. You won't have to plan Monday night dinner all summer! How awesome is that?

Here is the most exciting part! YOU voted the food trucks you wanted and the non-profits you wanted too!

What’s so great about food trucks, you may ask? I’m so glad you asked!

Here’s my Top Five Reasons Food Trucks Rock:

5. Outside > Inside: If you’re burned out on grilling, it’s a great option that gets you out of the hot kitchen and your family outside. Bring a blanket, have a picnic, make a fun night of it!

4. Variety is the Spice of Life: (along with Food Trucks) Family can’t decide on what to have for dinner? That’s the beauty of the food trucks. Each week a different one or two will be onsite. You don't have to make the decision.

3. The Joy of Discovery A wasabi dog? Why not? Unlike a restaurant with a 10-page menu, food trucks typically specialize on one specific thing. Enjoy that mastery and try something new! If someone has taken the time and effort to devote their food truck to hot dogs, like The Mean Weenie, you know that’s going to be one darn good dog.

2. Fast...It’s a scientific fact: although your clock says Monday has 24 hours like any other day, it’s the longest and slowest of the week! You’ve waited an eternity for it to be dinnertime, who wants to wait any longer to eat? Food truck = fast. Fast is good.

1. Doing Good One Meal at a Time These food trucks aren't just feeding our community, they are caring for it too. Each one of the trucks will donate to a specific non-profit and that’s something we can all feel good about.

The Village of Rochester Hills is excited to once again bring back our music program for children and their caregivers. Every Wednesday, starting on July 12 and running until August 30, we will enjoy reading a book together, music (singing and dancing), an activity or craft with our friends and of course, friendship making! We start the day at 10am and are normally done by 11:30am, but we always have plenty of time for new friendships, hanging in the park to chat, picnics or having lunch at one of our great restaurants...and of course ice cream!

Live Spring Fashions

April 24, 2015 the Village of Rochester Hills will literally come to life. It is the season that Michiganders are anxiously waiting to get outside. Longing for the days of fresh air and warmth. The evenings of longer daylight and mild temperatures are within a fingers-tip reach away…and the Village wants to celebrate.

Join the many stores and models to bring spring fashions alive. Carefully chosen, local talent will be modeling the latest in fashion trends….in-stores, outside stores and even where you least expect to see a model. Two lucky entries will be chosen to get a full photo shoot and headshot provided by ThreeSonsPhotography and Real Style will be onsite scouting for new talent!Micah

This event is free for the entire metro-Detroit area. It’s a celebration of fashion, fresh air and friendships. Plan to spend your evening strolling Village Main with friends and family. Look for the models throughout. Grab a bite to eat and even get some fun tastes inside the stores. Enjoy the beautiful ambiance and fresh pansies. Sit on a bench and just breath. Listen to some live music or even have a cartoon drawn of you and a friend.

The event will start at 6:00pm and commence at 8pm, but you are welcome to come early or stay late!

Get your tails to the Village on March 28th!

March 28th 10:30-1:30pm is a day you won't want to miss with the kids. Why? The Easter Bunny is arriving at the Village on a Rochester Hills Fire Truck! We will gather in Festival Park, by the Village Gazebo and wait for his arrival at 11am. Then, you can even let the kids visit and get your annual photo for FREE! We are asking for a small donation of $5 per child or $10 per family that will go directly to the Rainbow Connection. And we have more fun planned for the donation!
