ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., January 16th, 2012 — Birmingham, Mich.-based commercial real estate development firm Robert B. Aikens & Associates LLC today announced the addition of Hot Mama to the tenant line-up at the Village of Rochester Hills in Rochester Hills, Mich. Scott Aikens, Vice President of Leasing, made the announcement.
Hot Mama is a rising star in retail, recently profiled by Fast Company and Retailing Today. With their focus on fashion-forward women’s clothing, Hot Mama adds to the Village’s already impressive roster of fashion retailers. According to CEO Megan Tamte, Hot Mama specializes in quick and easy to wear clothes that can take a mom to a board meeting, a child’s baseball game, or a date night with her partner. The goal is to help take care of a woman physically, mentally and spiritually so she can be the best mom she can be. The Village location will be the first boutique in metro Detroit, adding one more store to Hot Mama’s quickly growing portfolio of 22 stores in 8 states.

Portrait Innovations has joined the list of merchants at The Village of Rochester Hills and have announced its official grand opening on May 10, 2011. The Village welcomes Portrait Innovations as the latest addition to its collection of fine shopping and dining establishments.
Portrait Innovations opened its first store in 2002 in Charlotte, NC. The company now operates more than 200 stores across the country, and the Village location is the eighth to open in Michigan. Their Village of Rochester Hills store is up and running, with its official grand opening on May 10th.
The third annual Brooksie Way Half Marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 3 from 8:00am - 12:00pm. County Executive L. Brooks Patterson began the Brooksie Way races to promote Oakland County and encourage people to become more physically active. Race proceeds support programs that encourage healthy and active lifestyle and are distributed through Brooksie Way mini grants.
